Our Story
How it all started...
The First Baptist Church of Bridgehampton’s roots go back to 1922; by 1924 it was the first organized black Baptist church on the South Fork
Story Narrative
Revival meetings were held in homes, baptisms in Sag Harbor Bay. In 1926, two founders bought the old firehouse on Corwith Avenue, which became the church’s home for 55 years. (Now the Dan Flavin Art Institute.)
